The tropical gardens of Villa Estuary back onto a scenic estuary where the river meets the sea. This natural sanctuary is home to an extraordinary array of birdlife, reptiles, and wildlife — all visible from the comfort of the garden or from the poolside sun loungers.
The estuary behind Villa Estuary is one of those rare unspoilt natural spaces that still feels genuinely wild. Egrets wade in the shallows at dawn, kingfishers dart between the mangroves, and if you're lucky you might spot a monitor lizard by the water's edge. Our most talked-about resident is the wild Mugger crocodile who occasionally comes to sunbathe on the opposite bank of the water stream — always a memorable sight for guests to photograph safely from our side. It stays on the far bank and has never come onto the property.
Sometimes the best experience is no experience at all — just a sun lounger by the pool, the sound of the estuary, a cold drink in hand, and the lush tropical garden all around. Villa Estuary's pool is shaded by tall coconut palms and surrounded by tropical flowers. The garden at its most magical is just after dawn, when the mist rises off the estuary and the whole place feels like something out of a dream.
