Hikkaduwa's coral reef is one of the most accessible snorkelling and diving spots in Sri Lanka. Just wade in from the beach and you're immediately surrounded by colourful coral gardens and tropical fish. Glass-bottom boat tours are available for those who prefer to stay dry, and there are excellent seafood restaurants lining the beach for a late lunch.
